As we approach All Hallow's Eve, you will be excited to hear that scream screen legend Clive Barker is bringing Hellraiser to terrorize a new audience.
The icon has taken to Facebook to announce that he's writing a new script to reboot his popular Hellraiser franchise. "It will be darker and richer than the first," he tells his legion of social media followers.
So far, the only confirmed role is Cenobite antagonist Pinhead, the leader, who will be played — once again — by Doug Bradley. The longtime actor was applauded for his role as the demonic caretaker of the pleasure-filled limbo. Barker has yet to specify exactly how the film will be different, but implored that it wouldn't be "awash with CGI," and that he remained "as passionate about the power of practical makeup effects" as he was when the original film released back in 1987.
Barker stepped away from writing and directing after the success of the first film, instead choosing to act as an executive producer in the film. The reboot will mark the franchise's tenth effort, so we'll have to keep our radars aware for when a release date is announced.
