Actor Columbus Short is preparing to star in an upcoming sequel of the college flick Stomp the Yard.
Short will be coming on as a producer for the sequel, which will be called Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming. He plans to resurrect his role as DJ Williams. The executive producer of the original Stomp the Yard, Rob Hardy, is set to direct.
Details of the sequel, which will begin shooting in Atlanta early November, have not been released yet. The 2007 film centers on the life of a Los Angeles krump dancer (DJ) who finds his way at a historically black college following the death of his younger brother Duron (played by Chris Brown). The movie's stars included Meagan Good and Ne-Yo.
Columbus Short's most recently starred in the 2008 film Cadillac Records and Whiteout. -Linda Hobbs
