The FX cable network that carries an extreme brand of critically-acclaimed comedy has put another autobiographical project on the tube. Will it be another hit like Louis and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?
The untitled bio-comedy will be headlined by DL Hughley and is based on his life experiences and revolves around him as a "no-excuses" honest family man and radio host.
The former ComicView host has been married to his wife LaDonna for more than 25 years and has three children. The FX project will be co-written by the former "Original King Of Comedy," as Dave Becky and Michael Rotenberg (3 Arts) will serve as the executive producers. Previously, The Hughleys ran on television sets across the country for four seasons on ABC and UPN, and gets love on syndication. So, there is proven success from the Hall of Fame funnyman to provide another hit for the small screen.
In the meantime, you can find the comedian turn game show host on the TBS original series Trust Me, I'm A Game Show Host alongside Michael Ian Black. Debuting this fall, the show will see the two hosts battle to fool competing contestants. With one telling an inescapable truth and the other probably lying in his pants, the contestant needs to pick which of the two is telling the truth. Best judges of character will take home prizes and cash money.
