Looks like things weren’t all G.O.O.D for Common. In a special edition of MTV’s RapFix Live, host Sway Calloway sat down with the Chicago MC to discuss his new album, Nobody’s Smiling, and revealed that he has settled in at another label. Common announced that he is now signed to longtime friend/collaborator No I.D’s Artium Records imprint, and has parted ways with Ye’s G.O.O.D Music entity. In this sit-down, the “Be” rapper said when he approached Yeezus about starting the album process, he was not that concerned with it. “I think his focus was somewhere else,” he said about Mr. West’s interest in recording his current project. “I’m on Artium, G.O.O.D. Music that’s still my family, Ye is my brother.” Nobody’s Smiling was released July 22 through Artium Records and Def Jam Records. The rapper/actor also dished on being inspired by Chi-town’s new crop of artists, his past beefs with Ice Cube and Drake, and more. Peep the videos below.
