Jay-Z’s GRAMMY-nominated sound engineer and DJ Young Guru is bringing Sound & Vision, an intimate three-part panel series, to Manhattan's 92YTribeca this summer starting Friday, June 29.
The man behind some of the Roc's biggest hits, Guru's Sound & Vision will fuse music and discussion with special guests throughout to talk about the music industry and all components that come along with it.
"I curated Sound & Vision with the music lover in mind,” explains Young Guru, who's worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Kanye West and Drake. “As an audio engineer, I've had the privilege of working with some of the best artists and producers known today. Educating is one of my deepest passions and I am honored and excited to have 92YTribeca host this series where I can share my experience and skill sets with the next thriving generation of music masters."
The series kicks off this Friday, June 29, 2012, at 8 p.m. with a discussion with Sean C & LV on the “art of sampling”, their contribution to Jay-Z’s American Gangster LP, and the music culture as a whole. Friday’s event will also feature a how-to demonstration from the duo and a demo from Young Guru on the ones and twos.
