There was some healthy Internet chatter about "Transformers 4" that director Michael Bay recently squashed — but has he had a change of heart? More after the break!
Rumors began circulating on the World Wide Web that Mark Wahlberg was up to be the lead for the next "Transformers" film, but Bay was instantly quick to deny the rumors, saying that he was only working on "Pain & Gain" with the former leader of the Funkybunch.
However, Michael Bay has gone on record as having been actually inspired by those very rumors, leading many to believe that Wahlberg could potentially star in "Transformers 4". "I squashed a rumor that was on the Internet last week," Bay wrote on his personal blog. "It was about Mark Wahlberg. I had such a great time working with Mark on 'Pain and Gain,' and he gave such a great performance - well let's say that very same Internet chatter gave me some ideas."
Bay and his writer are "gaining traction" with the story for T4, but the big budget director offered his thanks to the Internet, which we all appreciate since he's no longer attached to ruin "TMNT".
According to Yahoo!, the new "Transformers" flick is slated to have an all-new cast, not only of the human variety, but the robots themselves, too. Bay also went on the record saying that the action will pick up directly after the events of "Dark of the Moon".
We will keep you posted the moment Michael Bay announces his new cast members, as "Transformers 4" will unfold into theaters on June 29, 2014.
