Yesterday, we brought you a tidbit from Robert Downey Jr.'s exclusive Entertainment Weekly interview. After the break, he hints on a possible space adventure for Iron Man.
The magnetic appeal of Iron Man seems to know no bounds and with Marvel employing 47-year-old Robert Downey Jr. every summer, it seems that there is some chatter brewing on his next adventure in 2014.
According to the spies at Latino Review, Tony Stark will leave Earth's atmosphere and "hook up with the Guardians of the Galaxy' in a segue-way that leads into the film, which Stark will also make a small appearance.
If that wasn't enough of a hint, the next clue came yesterday from part two of a five-part Entertainment Weekly chat with Robert Downey Jr. In addressing the possibility of a cameo appearance from Stark's friends from The Avengers, Downey gave a subtle answer first by explaining that Iron Man 3 "needs to acknowledge that this is a post-Avengers world but at the same time find an interesting way to focus on Tony Stark's personal journey."
The extra additive was this:
"But we can't help it — everywhere you look now in every Marvel movie there are opportunities where certain new pals of his could be useful. So they're in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn't expect to see them on the ground in this one."
"In the atmosphere"... "on the ground"... Those possible context clues could mean that the Guardians are on the way. We'll have to wait until May 3rd to be sure. But the safe money is that this is a guarantee. How else are you to introduce a relatively new comic crew to the average movie goer?
