Daft Punk Bassist Nathan East Takes On Stevie Wonder

/ January 10, 2014

Daft Punk bassist, Nathan East—who can be heard working the rhythm section on the duo’s Grammy-nominated Random Access Memories—has taken on Stevie Wonder classic, “Sir Duke.”

East, who has worked with every music star from Beyonce to Michael Jackson to Eric Claton, is now going solo after 30 years playing session guy. The Stevie Wonder rework is the first single off of Nathan East’s self-titled solo debut on a forthcoming album dropping on 3.25 on Yamaha’s record label.

The bass luminary will be joining VIBE’s summer 2013 cover stars Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams, along with Wonder and others for their highly anticipated performance of “Get Lucky” at the Grammys.
