Dave Grohl Interviews Nas About Grammys, Rap Beef

Dave Grohl Interviews Nas About Grammys, Rap Beef

Christopher Harris Posted February 6, 2013

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl sat down with Nas on Chelsea Lately to discuss the hip-hop vet's Grammy experience, rap beef and more. Nasty Nas also spoke on hip-hop's lack of representation at the Grammy Awards -- by the way, Nas knows exactly how many times he’s been nominated for a Grammy: 18.

On hip-hop being relegated to the Grammy pre-show:
“I feel it could be a little bit more love. Hip-hop is making a lot of noise. It should get some more spotlight.”

On beef in hip-hop
“Hip-hop is really standoffish. It’s really competitive and it’s really about who’s number one all the time. Sometimes it gets out of hand.”

On winning an Emmy for his documentary
"It’s about amputee soccer [team], a bunch of athletes in Liberia. They’re victims of war crimes, so they have cut-off body parts and it’s horrible. But they turned a negative into a positive by creating these tournaments for soccer. They’re really good. And they’ve been getting a lot of attention. It’s a way to help them and their families.
