Actor Denzel Washington will be lighting up Broadway once again. The Tony Away winner confirmed he will be featured in the revival for Lorraine Hasberry's "A Raisin In The Sun," according to CBS News.
"We start previews in March," he said on the red carpet at the New York premiere of his action-comedy co-starring Mark Wahlberg, 2 Guns. He cited his wife Pauletta Pearson as the source of motivation to return to the stage.
"I'm trying to keep up with my wife. My wife has been doing a lot more theater than me," he said of Pearson, who stars in the award-winning production "Power Play."
While Washington says he won't be singing like his wife for his Broadway comeeback, he teased, "I'm looking forward to one day singing, See, I just wanted to get something out of her. She knows I can't sing. But she can sing," before adding, "I can sing ... in the shower."–Nina Marrissa (@NinaMarrissa)
