Did Dr. Dre Put Detox on Hold... Again?

The Fader caught up with Dr.Dre at the grand opening of Beats by Dre store in SoHo. In a brief interview the legendary producer, Dr. Dre revealed he would be taking a break from music after working with Kendrick Lamar and Slim Da Monster.

“ I think I’m going to wrap it up for a minute. I’ve been working on music for 27 years now and the longest I’ve been out of the studio in 27 years has been two weeks.”

In 1986 Dr. Dre gained fame after the group NWA dropped their acclaimed album, Straight Outta Compton. Since then, Dr. Dre has worked with everyone from Snoop Dogg to Gwen Stefani.

Dre has decided to take his time away from music to, "enjoy some time with the family until [he] get[s] the itch again.”

The Legendary producer is focused on working on his Beats By Dre headphones line.

“We’re trying to take over everything with a speaker and also microphones, we’re going to get involved with that.”

He hopes “Beats” will sit behind Apple as second most successful electronic accessory brand. There’s no doubt that will happen in the near future. --BDP
