Did Grammy Organizers Send Out A Memo About "Problematic" Performance Outfits This Week Because Of Beyonce?

Did Grammy Organizers Send Out A Memo About "Problematic" Performance Outfits This Week Because Of Beyonce?

VIBE Posted February 6, 2013

The organizers of the 2013 Grammy Awards have a very simple message for all of the artists out there who are scheduled to perform at the show this year: Make sure you dress appropriately! And, some people out there believe that the Grammy organizers sent a recent memo to this year's performers because of Beyonce, who wore several risqué outfits during her halftime show performance at Super Bowl XLVII. It aired on CBS, just like the 55th Grammy Awards will on Sunday night.

"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," the memo from CBS' standards and practices department said. "Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic."

And, they didn't stop there. It sounds like CBS essentially wants to shut down any costumes that could be deemed inappropriate by those people watching the Grammy Awards at home.

"Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples," the memo said. "Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

Fortunately, we don't think CBS will have a problem this year. Sure, Rihanna is performing, and she's always a threat to wear something skimpy. But, with acts like Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys, Carrie Underwood, Ed Sheeran, and Bruno Mars filling in some of the other performance slots, we think CBS will be in the clear.

Make sure you tune in on Sunday night to see how things go down during the Grammy Awards, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
