What do you do when you’re a young pop star and old videos hit the Web of you telling racist jokes with a Kool-Aid smile on your face? Apparently, if you’re Justin Bieber, you turn to the Lord. The 21-year-old singer was reportedly baptized in New York City in the wake of his most recent scandal.
According to TMZ, Biebs turned to Pastor Carl Lentz last month when he learned that someone was in possession of the videos and wanted a payout. Since, Lentz has allegedly been engaging Bieber in bible study. The site also reveals that JB’s baptism took place inside the bathtub of a friend, in an attempt to remain incognito.
The bathtub baptism was the height of his recent spiritual redemption, although
Bizzle Bieber has received the support of friends, including his mentor Usher.
“As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn't always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist,” he wrote in support of Bieber.
Bieber has been more quiet than usual this week, which may be a smart move, since there are talks of extended footage of the singer floating around.
