This year's NBA season is quite explosive, no?! Reportedly Kendrick Perkins and Zach Randolph got into a mix. Details after the jump.
The two NBA big men were ejected during the fourth quarter of the Memphis Grizzlies 107-97 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. All throughout the game those two were going at each other. It was brash, physical, and there was plenty of trash talk.
With 2:05 left in the game, Randolph (current #1 in rebounder in the league) and Perkins (current #3 shiiite-talker in the league) lined up across the free throw lane as Russell Westbrook shot. Verbal taunts were being thrown across the paint with it regressing into a playground brouhaha. The referees had enough and bounced them both from the game.
According to The Oklahoman, Perkins ran off the court directly into a hallway, where he got into it again with Randolph outside the postgame interview room next to the Thunder locker room. While conflicting reports still exist, the NBA is investigating Wednesday night's reported confrontation. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that both players "tried to get to each other but security prevented (a) physical altercation."
In the process of all of the drama, Memphis escaped its visit to Oklahoma City by extending its winnign streak to six games, while the Thunder's own streak was snapped at five games.
