Kendrick Lamar has tapped super director Taj Stansberry for his next visual. In an interview with Global Grind, Taj spills (some) beans on how he snagged the project and the concept behind KDot's upcoming video for "Money Trees."
"Me and Kendrick have crossed paths a few times in L.A. Finally, something came into my email from my agent, saying 'Were you interested in working with Kendrick Lamar' on "Money Trees." [That's] my favorite song on the album so I was like 'Yeah of course.' Then she's like, 'Ok well write something up. It's due tomorrow' so I dropped everything and said 'I'ma do a website for it' instead of writing it. I started literally at 9 in the morning and finished at 9 at night."
While Taj keeps a tight lip on the specifics, he says he felt "accomplished" after wrapping up on-set. "I listened to it once and I'm just gonna talk about who we are today," he explains. "I don't wanna give it all away but it's not the end of the world. It's actually the very near future."
