DJ Drama is a pioneer when it come to the rap game. However, now the hip-hop jockey - born Tyree Cinque Simmons - follows the likes of Trinidad James, Just Blaze and Waka Flocka Flame with plans to immerse himself in electronic dance music's thriving scene. "You might catch me and David Guetta sometime soon, if it’s up to me," DJ Drama tells VIBE, adding: "I’m about to go do a festival with Mark Ronson and A-Trak in London this summer."
Lending his years of expertise to dance music is a passion project for the ATL native, who confesses: "I love the EDM world, I love the trap world. I salute all those guys, Avicii and Guetta, Tiësto and even Flosstradamus, and my man Green Lantern is getting his trap on."
The draw for a DJ's gravitation to EDM is clear: "Just watching the DJ be the superstar is always a beautiful thing and I love the lane I’m in," Drama says. "I’m in a great space. People love the music that I’ve been putting out and the tapes that I’ve been doing. I’m open to everything, most definitely."
