DJ Khaled Defends His Use of the N-Word

DJ Khaled Defends His Use of the N-Word

Posted September 22, 2011

Being of Palestinian descent DJ Khaled faced different forms of racism while growing up in Florida and paying his dues in the rap game.

Even though he doesn’t have any African American blood in him, the well-respected DJ has been known to use “n—ga” freely in his everyday conversations and music.

“I grew up like that. [N--ga] is slang. It’s actually a positive word, the way I use it,” Khaled told DJ Green Lantern (via NahRight).

He also went onto explain how he faced haters calling him a “sand n—ga” during his childhood. Ultimately, Khaled feels justified in using the slang in a positive manner.
