DJ Khaled Gets Animated With MetroPCS, Talks New Album: 'I Was In The Studio With Kanye West'

DJ Khaled has partnered with MetroPCS for the “Android for All” campaign. Khaled, along with several other celebs including: Warren Sapp, Far East Movement & DJ Skee helped design their own characters on the Android phone.

In addition to the celeb characters, fans can enter the campaign to create their own design. Ten contestants who collect the most ‘likes’ will be judged by a panel, and the winner will receive a 50-inch version of their design, five 3-inch vinyl toys with their design and an LG Optimus M Android phone from MetroPCS, nine runners-up will each win an LG Optimus M Android phone.

“I got respect for [MetroPCS] and they have respect for my brand, We The Best, and we wanted to take it to another level, ” Khaled says . “I think it just shows you the growth and the excitement that We The Best got going. It takes on a global path."

The corporate hustle isn't the only thing Khaled has on his plate for this year. He also just released his first single,“Welcome to My Hood” (feat. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Plies & T-Pain), from his forthcoming album.

“I had a vision to wake the streets up and give them something they love. Ross, Weezy, Plies, you can’t get them on one track everyday and to get three street, authentic and incredible artists to spit for the streets and to make a hit—it’s amazing, he tells VIBE. “Me and Ross were in the studio and came up with a plan. I got it cracking with him first—then I presented the song to Wayne when he got home. Weezy took time and blessed it with a classic. As for Plies—we did that in Orlando. Renegades and I co produced it alongside The Nasty Beatmakers.”

We the Best Forever will be Khaled’s fifth studio album and first project under the Cash Money umbrella.

“I definitely will have Drake on my album; definitely will have Nicki Minaj on there. I got something special I’m working with the team. You’re going to have all your favorite artists on there. Me collaborating with Cash Money—making amazing records and coming out with amazing songs. We’re going to give you a classic now. I can tell you I was in the studio the other day with Kanye West. I don’t want to give away too much information out there but know I’m working! “
