Back in April, we learned that the West Coast hitmaker DJ Mustard had signed a management deal with Roc Nation to help bring his beats to a larger cache of artists. Now his team announced that he has signed as a solo artist to Roc Nation.
It''s unclear what that really means in terms of his future releases, although, it almost certainly guarantees that he'll be working with other Roc Nation artists like Meek Mill, Rita Ora, J. Cole, Rihanna, and maybe even Hova himself.
Commenting on his deal with Roc Nation, Mustard said that he'd like to prove that he can do more than just the ratchet beats that he's become quite famous for.
"What I’m doing now is just trying to convert over and show people that I can do more than just club records," the producer said. "Just growing up and changing the outlook of what people think of me."
Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with the producer. ---Max Weinstein
