North England producer, Bontan, appeared as if from thin air at Number Two on Beatport’s Deep House chart recently with an uplifting tune titled, “Move On Out” (released earlier this month on Toolroom Records). The track features steady drums and smooth, rolling basslines, which makes it an easy qualifier for the latest dancefloor repeat offender.
"I always work on my bass before anything else when I make a track so I can get a feel for it straight away," Bontan tells VIBE.
If you delve a bit deeper into Bontan, you’ll find he’s had countless Radio 1 plays, a Beatport award for best-selling remix of the year and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Hot Since 82 and Carl Cox. "I work pretty fast. If I'm not feeling the track after a few hours I usually move on to the next idea," he explains of his process in the studio.
Plug into the sound, which he describes as "chunky, hot and sweaty house music." We don't disagree with the newest future king of underground.
