Dog Shoots Owner While Riding Shotgun

Who let this dog out? Florida native Gregory Dale Lanier was injured last Friday (Feb. 22) when his dog reportedly shot him in the leg.

The dog was riding in the passenger seat of Lanier’s truck when it kicked a loaded 9-millimeter pistol. The gun accidentally went off -- straight at its owner. An investigation is pending. Ironically, the incident comes at a time when America remains divided over stricter gun ownership laws.

It’s not the first time a dog’s done damage with a deadly weapon. The shooting mimics a 2012 case when a dog shot a French hunter while going in for a hug. His hand (the hunter's) was later amputated.
