Drake Reveals Why He's Not in a Relationship and How Long He Expects to be Rapping

Just when it seemed Drake was establishing himself in the top tier of the rap game, he tells i-D magazine over a meal that he won’t be rapping for long. Drizzy revealed that he wanted to make a return to acting after making his first mark on the entertainment industry as a young Jimmy Brooks on teen show “Degrassi.”

The Canadian emcee delves into the reason why he’s single, the film that made the most impact on his life and how long we can expect his music to stick around. Here are some highlights.

Knowing when he’s in love:
For me, it’s a time thing. It’s like the feeling just doesn’t go away. I'm one of those people where I become uninterested very quickly because my whole life is about chasing what’s next. We’re sitting here talking about “Take Care” and how successful it’s been but I could care less because I have another album to make…Unfortunately that theory is so relevant in my life that it bleeds into my love life and when you’re in love, you just don’t think about that next step. You’re comfortable where you’re at.

Who he’d want to play him in a biopic:
I like Ryan Gosling as an actor. I watch all of his movies and he’s Canadian and I just like his swag. I read his interviews and I’m a big fan of his.

How long he’ll rap for:
I personally think that when I find that person and when it is established we are going to enter a serious relationship—I mean I don’t even know if I’ll still be making rap music. I don’t know how long I necessarily want to make rap music for. You know, there are artists who are 35 and up that still make rap and that still works for them. I don’t know if I want to be that guy. Maybe I’ll be just acting or whatever it is. That’s really my plan. I plan to make as much music as I can until a story from Drake doesn’t impact you as it used to.”
