Lebron James' recent decision to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was met with mixed emotions. However, amidst all the pandemonium surrounding James' homecoming, many fans were left wondering how his Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade would take the news.
D-Wade released a statement Saturday (July 12), saying that he fully supports James' departure. Although the 32-year-old NBA star did admit that he was "sad" to see his "brother" begin a new journey he reassured that their bond was "unbreakable".
“We shared something unique and he will always be part of my family,” Wade said. “LeBron made the right decision for himself and his family because home is where your heart is. I know this was not an easy decision to make and I support him in returning to his roots."
Meanwhile, James' other Heat cohort, Chris Bosh, has agreed to a five-year, $118 million deal to stay with Miami, the Daily News reports. Though the Heat have yet to officially announce Bosh's deal, the NBA power forward confirmed his decision on Instagram on Saturday (July 12), posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing one of his Heat championship rings and a hat that spells out “Miami” in large gold letters.
“I’m glad I’m staying,” Bosh wrote. “Looking forward to starting a new chapter in Miami’s book!”
