Earl Sweatshirt gets things off his chest all awhile letting you into his personal headspace when he raps. His verses are more poignant storytelling then rappers twice his 19 years. The Odd Future spin-off spit some venom on the mike when making his solo television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday (Aug. 10). Sweatshirt performed “Burgundy,” the fourth single off his forthcoming debut LP Doris.
"Grandma's passing/ But I'm too busy tryna get this fuckin' album cracking too see her/ So I apologize in advance if anything should happen/ And my priorities fucked up, I know it, I'm afraid, I wanna blow it/ And all them expectations raising because daddy was a poet, right?" he starts on “Burgundy.”
Doris -- with cameos from Frank Ocean, Tyler, the Creator, RZA, Mac Miller, Casey Veggies, Vince Staples and Domo Genesis -- drops Aug. 20.
