Electric Zoo's Youngbloods Part 1

Electric Zoo is considered to be one of the most awesome gatherings in which the world’s best EDM DJ/producers are showcased. From clubheads to newbies, this event is universally seen as one of the most highly anticipated bashes each summer season. Returning to Randalls Island for it’s 4th year, E-Zoo promises an experience impossible to match. This year’s lineup features somewhat of a youthful talent group as some of the world’s top DJs are under 25.

Enter Electric Zoo’s Youngbloods Part 1. VIBE has put together a list of 10 ‘youngbloods’ that you need to know about. For our first portion we present you soon to be Zoo attendees with 5 talented youngsters that will make your jaw drop.

Pierce Fulton

Breaking onto the EDM circuit at the young age of 17, Fulton has been on an endless tear since 09’. Now 19, the phenom producer’s career has developed into a life of international touring and chart topping releases. Renowned for his upbeat bass filled sound, Fulton has become clear favorite of the masses as his sets rarely disappoint. Don’t let his age fool you, this youngblood’s production skills are more on point than some EDM dinosaurs.

Porter Robinson

Seen in a similar light to that of Lebron James when he was coming out of highschool, Porter Robinson had a #1 Beatport track before his graduation. In a timeframe that most would consider absurdly quick, Robinson has already shared stage with a number of the industry’s titans such as DeadMau5, Tiesto and Skrillex to name a few. If I had to use one word to describe his sound and appearances, it would be SAVAGE. This youngblood has already climbed the ladder of success even though legally he isn’t permitted into clubs...Go figure.

Datsik

If you claim to be a dubstep fan and don’t know who Datsik is, you live under a rock. The 24 year old Canadian producer has had over 10 #1’s on Beatport which has helped him successfully intoxicate the masses with his bass filled swagger sets. Alongside fellow dubstep monster producers, Excision and Downlink, Datsik continuously impresses all of those who witness him throw down.

Maya Jane Coles

As the ongoing argument over the world’s best girl DJ/producer carries on, the name Maya Jane Coles is always in the mix. The UK based producer has made an unprecedented rise to the top in an unbelievable amount of time. After her breakthrough release in 2010, she was quickly recognized by DJ Mag as ‘Newcomer of the Year (2010)’. The following year Coles was awarded the cover of Mix Mag and a laundry list of other accolades. Her sound is original, groovy and truly one of the best out there right now. Making her first appearance at E-Zoo this year, she will not disappoint.

Zedd

The 22 year old German producer has been turning heads for a considerable amount of time. Recently basking in glory as his latest original ‘Spectrum sat atop the Beatport charts, Zedd boasts a sound consisting of multiple genres. His music background dates back his youth as he was raised by two musicians. Regardless of that, this kid is so talented as a DJ and producer that there is nothing but excitement for what he has in store for the future.
