The popular LEGO film franchise adds Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman to its cast.
Entitled LEGO: The Piece of Resistance, the film will star the two charismatic characters in a storyline that sees a regular LEGO figure mistaken for the "MasterBuilder." He or she winds up caught in a mission to stop a super-villain from gluing the LEGO world together.
Banks' character is currently unknown, but Freeman is said to be playing someone named Vitruvius. Chris Pratt is attached to the film with Will Arnett and Channing Tatum also rumored to be along for the ride.
The project, which has been in development at Warner Bros. for over three years, was written by Dan and Kevin Hageman, and will be directed by Phil Lord, Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), and stop-motion director Chris McKay (Robot Chicken).
LEGO: The Piece of Resistance is scheduled to hit theaters on February 28, 2014.
