Dr. Dre’s latest music venture brought some of hip-hop’s most legendary artists to one stage last night in Los Angeles. Celebrating the launch of the new kid on the music streaming block, Beats Music, stars packed into the Belasco Theatre as staple acts like Scarface, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Busta Rhymes, and Ice Cube performed a “live playlist” of classics.
Also on the bill for the night was Eminem, joined by Dre to rock the crowd with hits such as “My Name Is,” “Forgot About Dre,” and “Lose Yourself.” Diddy and Ma$e were yet another duo to take the crowd back in time, performing “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems” and “It’s All About the Benjamins.” Mixing in a bit of 90s R&B was Blackstreet, rocking out with Dre for “No Diggity.” Method Man and Redman, Cypress Hill and Geto Boys also hit the stage, as well as our 2014 VIBE Impact Award recipient, Nas.
