Eminem continued to tear up the charts with his eighth studio effort Marshall Mathers LP 2 and has reached platinum status within 2 weeks, pushing sales over the million mark after selling 792,000 copies in its first week.
"I love beats and rhymes and I love that you can express yourself in a rhyme and lay it down and it can be therapeutic, and get it off your chest and ... move on to the next thing," Em said in a recent interview with Zane Lowe when asked why he loves rap.
This week, the Detroit rapper falls no. 2 to another specie of music monster as Lady Gaga nabs the top spot with her ARTPOP LP, which sold 258,000 in its first week, according to Billboard.
Still, the celebration didn't stop as Marshall graces the cover of Rolling Stone and discusses the making of his now-platinum record, the Beastie Boys, bringing back the blonde 'do and more.
"I realize that I'm an adult, a grown-ass man," he says, "and I don't know what I'll be doing a year from now, 10 years from now, but I don't think that my tongue-in-cheekness will ever go away.
