When Eminem drops, he sells.
Only 24 hours after the release of his eighth studio effort The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Slim Shady is already set to grab the top spot on the Billboard charts in the second biggest week of album sales this year.
Early industry reports say that Em will push 700,000 to 750,000 units in his first week. This would put the Detroit rapper second to Justin Timberlake, who clocked in 968,000 albums sold of his comeback project The 20/20 Experience, Part 1 this past March.
MMLP2, available on iTunes will mark Eminem's seventh consecutive no. 1 album. He is currently tied with Kanye West and Nas, each with 6 chart-toppers, as the hip hop act with second-most No. 1 albums. Jay Z beats the pack with 13 No. 1 albums.
