It looks like some folks will soon have to resort to the judge shows for mid day entertainment. ABC has just announced the cancellation of its long-running daytime soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live. All My Children has been on the air since 1970, and will end in September; One Life to Live has been on since 1968 and will end in January 2012.
They will be replaced with The Chew, a show about food from various angles, which by Mario Batali and others, and The Revolution, "about health and lifestyle transformations," which will be hosted by Tim Gunn and Idol contestant Kimberley Locke, among others.
General Hospital will become the only soap opera ABC has on the air.
Props to Vulture.
