Eric B. and Rakim, Guns 'N Roses, The Cure Nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Posted September 28, 2011

The iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced nominees for the 2012 class.

Rockers Jett, whose “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” remains a classic after 30 years, Guns ‘N Roses, hip-hop pioneers Eric B. & Rakim, The Cure, and more are all nominees on the ballot for the hall’s 2012 class.

Previous nominees up again include The Beastie Boys, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, Donovan and War.

To qualify an act must have released its first single or album 25 years ago. The final decision will come from over 500 voters' input.

New members will be inducted at a ceremony at the hall of fame in Cleveland on April 14.
