Celebrating f15 years of musical inspiration at the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA), feature film ‘What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music’ bursts onto your computer screens on February 18 at the RBMA website.
The project was directed by the award-winning Ralf Schmerberg and features a host of musical geniuses including Erykah Badu, Nile Rodgers, Q-Tip, and Rakim to name a few. These luminaries all helped shape the next generation of music with their help at the RBMA workshops around the world, teaching and performing with 60 newbie musicians every year.
The film explores the challenges of the music industry, going beyond music and questioning life itself. It also touches on life at the RBMA, where genres and generations combine through music. Limited screenings of ‘What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music’ will hit select cities around the world including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit this side of the Atlantic on February 17th.
Applications for 2014’s Tokyo RBMA workshops this October open January 15th.
