Etta James Plagued By Leukemia; Family Fighting Over Med Bills

News circulated Friday (Jan. 14) that blues beauty Etta James has been diagnosed with leukemia and dementia. Not only have the diseases riddled her mind and body requiring round-the-clock care, but her family has been locked into a court dispute over her finances.

According to TMZ, James' husband Artis Mills is requesting $1 million to be placed in a joint account in order to handle his wife's medical bills. However, her son Donto James wants a third part to be responsible for the money matters to "avoid present and future family conflict and discrepancies."

Family and friends expect the sassy "At Last" singer to remain a fighter and recover as much as possible.
