Eva Longoria Shuts Down Romance Rumors With Matt Barnes

Apparently Los Angeles Lakers' Matt Barnes seems to be moving "forward" rather quickly

since his recent split with fiancée, reality star Gloria Govan. Barnes has recently been rumored to be dating actress Eva Longoria, however the rumor has been shot down by the Desperate Housewives actress.

“First Jessica Simpson, now this,” Longoria wrote on her WhoSay page in references to the recent gossip about Jessica Simpson’s possible pregnancy. “Once again, press gets it wrong, Matt barnes and I are not dating!” She added: “We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs Cancer.” Longoria is actually reported to currently be dating singer Eduardo Cruz, who also happens to be the younger brother of Penelope Cruz. The couple was last seen on a yacht in Miami in February.

Gloria isn't the only one who has turned to the 'net to expose feelings. During a Twitter exchange with a fan, a person suggested Barnes should marry Govan before someone else does. Barnes responded, “He can have her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Govan followed and retweeted, “If someone is dumb enough to walk away, be smart enough to let them go. Your destiny is never tied to anyone who leaves you.”

With two young sons together, Barnes and Govan called it quits for their relationship after a series of ups and downs, including a delayed wedding and domestic violence charges. In September, Barnes was arrested in Sacramento, Calif. on charges domestic violence charges, allegedly in part for keeping Govan from using a telephone. A day after his arrest, Govan told the media the entire incident was a misunderstanding.

Barnes released a statement Wednesday, in which he wrote, “I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship. We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best.”--Shabazz
