In 1989, former New York Knicks legend, Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player ever to have his own shoe company.
Ewing Athletics would go on to produce over 20 different sneakers throughout the hall-of-famer's prolific career. The brand returned last year, re-releasing the Ewing 33 Hi in a variety of new colors. Another one of their staples, the Ewing Focus is set to make its comeback nearly 20 years after its original debut. Donning the Focus on his feet, Ewing averaged 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks during the ’93 season, before being defeated by the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Focus features an ankle strap with “FOCUS” boldly embroidered across the front, as well as Patrick’s signature along the buckle. The sneakers will be released in two announced colorways: Knicks-inspired orange/blue and red/black. Look for these to become available at a select 33 retailers on June 29 for $120.
