A few things you want to keep in mind to avoid dry skin in the winter. Long hot showers dehydrate the skin, so keep your showers shorter. Sodium Laurel Sulfate is the ingredient in shower gels that produce lather. Although the suds make us squeaky clean, those same ingredients dry skin out. So look for shower oils or gels with a base of aloe.
