Fantasia Lowers Asking Price On Her N.C. Home

Will former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino ever get back in a winning position?

The soul singer’s series of public woes have included an affair with a married man, Antwaun Cook, an attempted suicide, being sued by Cook’s wife for allegedly being a home wrecker and subsequently having a child with Cook.

Yes, 2011 was not the best year for the songstress but it seems like Fantasia may be releasing some of her financial burdens by downgrading—starting with her mansion in Charlotte, N.C.

According to TMZ, the “Even Angels” singer has listed her five-bedroom, 38,768 square feet mansion for $800,000, which is almost $500,000 less than what she purchased the home for five years ago.

It was never a secret that Fantasia was the main breadwinner for her large extended family, many of whom lived with her in her mansion during the run of her popular VH-1 reality show Fantasia For Real.

As many may remember, the R&B singer nearly lost this home to public auction after allegedly defaulting on a $58,000 loan.

Fantasia continues to hone her vocal abilities as she still tours and makes appearances. She was recently announced as one of the performers for the 2012 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans this summer. —Johnathan Cruse
