Amidst public outrage over the shooting death of unarmed Missouri teen, Mike Brown, the Associated Press reports the FBI will handle the investigation.

Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson tells the media outlet he was informed Monday the FBI was taking over the investigation into the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Police say the St. Louis teen was shot multiple times by a police officer following a scuffle, while witnesses say the shooting was unprovoked.

After a candlelight vigil was held, tensions rose as crowds looted and burned stores, vandalized cars and taunted police trying to protect certain areas. Almost three dozen people were arrested.
