After an extraneous wait, we are treated with the first official look at Downton Abbey Season Four. Make sure you've filled out that passport application!
This captivating trailer is jam packed with chunks of beauty, class and a first look at the diverse addition to the cast, actor Gary Carr. With some lingering life-or-death decisions still hanging in the air, the clip features some interesting moments that fans of the popular PBS/BBC show cannot wait for.
While there isn't much dialogue featured, we are given everything we could possibly ask for in the minute-long trailer that finds members of the show dancing and placing hands comfortingly on people's shoulders. Last year, Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes announced that he intended to introduce a Black character to the show's cast in an attempt to attract a more diverse viewership. Carr, best known for UK shows Bluestone 42 and Death in Paradise, plays Jack Ross, a jazz musician who will ignite some race-related controversy within the show.
With Lady Mary Crawley mourning her husband, Matthew, who died six months earlier in a car crash, there are plenty of dramatic and fulfilling moments in the new season of Downton Abbey.
Get a look at Gary Carr's character and more in the teaser trailer of the show, which you can check out below:
The show will premiere on PBS on January 5, 2014, with United Kingdom fans able to watch the premiere September of this year.
