The First Photo Uploaded to the Internet

/ July 11, 2012

As the Internet approaches its 20th birthday next year, Motherboard has revealed the first photo ever uploaded to the worldwide web. According to the tech site, Internet creator, Tim Berners-Lee uploaded the above photo to CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research) on a page to promote musical acts.

This particular picture is the promotional art for Les Horribles Cernettes, a comedy band. The original artwork faded into obscurity in 1998, after the Mac that housed the original gif. file failed.

Interesting, huh?
