There's not a whole lot about Gareth Edwards' (Monsters) upcoming reboot of the Japanese classic film, but we have a few tidbits for you to check out.
Now that production is actually underway, the highly praised filmmaker is opening up the vaults to show cinephiles what he's working on with Godzilla. For those who aren't in the loop, Edwards won the job of bringing the Kaiju back to the big screen after his first feature film became a global success.
The filmmaker recently uploaded a "special message" from the set of the shoot, and although it's nothing more than a brief hello, it does offer cinephiles a first look at the film's set. You can check it out below:
Godzilla is currently filming in Vancouver, British Columbia, but once again the Canadian city is camouflaging itself as a different world-famous destination. In this case, the film takes place in Japan, and not in New York — specifically an airport. The film's roster of talent is already giving a whole bunch of cinephiles excitement. Godzilla will star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, David Strathairn, Juliette Binoche, and Ken Watanabe. David S. Goyer and Drew Pearce worked on the screenplay, with Frank Darabont behind the most recent draft.
