Fitness Pioneer Jack LaLanne Dies At 96
Health and fitness pioneer Jack LaLanne died Sunday due to pneumonia related respiratory failure at age 96.
LaLanne, also known as “The Godfather of Fitness,” promoted a healthy lifestyle up until his death. In late December, he wrote on his blog that the New Year was an opportunity for “more goals, new adventures and a healthier year! The stronger we become the more longevity we gain. Your waistline is your lifeline so let’s keep it up!”
His last blog entry, dated Jan. 20, 2011, had these words: “Hope you all are keeping your New Year’s Resolutions to taking care of the most important person on this earth, YOU!!!!”
Despite the cause of death he did something right. Living to age 96 is no small fete. RIP Jack LaLanne. [CBS]
