Carmelo Anthony may have opted out of his Knicks contract Monday (June 23) but New Yorkers haven't lost all hope yet. Bronx rapper French Montana partied with Melo last night and apparently asked the question on every one's mind.
"Asked @carmeloanthony if he was staying in ny. he started looking The other way!!! Lol," he wrote on Instagram.
Anthony's agent Leon Rose, however, didn't exactly rule out Melo returning in the orange and blue, saying, "Carmelo loves being a Knick, he loves the city, and he loves the fans. At this stage of his career, he just wants to explore his options."
Should Melo stay at home, he could reportedly ink a deal worth $129 million over five years. If he takes his talents elsewhere, the max he could get is a contract worth $96 million over four years.
Regardless, props to French for trying to get the scoop.
