Kickoff the weekend with these recent 10 dance music releases, curated by DJ, producer and vocalist Lea Luna.

1. Ante Ujevic- “Windsor Spirit EP”
Warming up this week’s Friday rewind, we have a new minimal tech EP from Ante Ujevic, whose music is getting major play from fellow Windsorite Richie Hawtin. This late night sampler is tough and hypnotic, laced with booming basses and quirky atmospheres that will flip a techno lover’s lid.

2. Simian Mobile Disco- “Dervish”
This visually stimulating oscilloscope video pairs well with the trip Simian Mobile Disco takes you on with “Dervish.” Get lost in this ethereal techno vibe.

3. Michael Jackson- Slave to the Rhythm (Audien Remix)
There is some serious “wow” factor in the pop/EDM marriage going on with Audien’s new remix of Michael Jackson’s “Slave to the Rhythm.” This is the first commissioned remix of this song in history. It really is a shame that MJ isn’t alive to hear this, because it’s so danceworthy that it should have been an original collaboration.

4. Laidback Luke feat Gina Turner- “Bae”
It’s a nice change to hear Laidback Luke trying his hand at the newly popular sound of future house (and succeeding), featuring sultry vocals by the talented Gina Turner (who just happens to be his actual bae). This is a great combination of classic beat patterns mixed up with current techie leads and a bit of classy urban slang.

5. Helena feat. Shawnee Taylor- “Levity” (Merk & Kremont remix)
International superstar DJ Helena’s recent release “Levity” featuring the powerful vocals of Shawnee Taylor is a smashing summer anthem that peaked at #7 on Beatport, smashing dancefloors from Australia to the US. Last week, a well-rounded set of remixes came out on Beatport, finishing off with this gigantic electro fireball by Italian duo Merk & Kremont.

6.Sander Van Doorn- “Get Enough”
“Enough” is the techno side of progressive, with a chugging beat and dark synths the whole way through. You can’t simply play this at a local bar, it is so absolutely huge and menacing that it will shake the rafters of any building. A massive crowd would go bananas for this.

7. Arno Cost & Norman Doray- “Strong”
This incredible anthem has a vocal hook for those who follow the dance music creed of keeping a positive vibe. The uplifting melody will blast you off into the stars. Throw your hands up and let the perma-grin take over your face.

8. Jan Van Lier- “Descent”

Jan Van Lier has had his finger on the pulse for over a decade in the realms of house and techno, with consistent DJ support from the likes of Sandra Collins, Adam Sheridan, John Acquaviva, Tony Thomas, and Carl Cox. This week he released a 4-track EP on Beatport that starts off with this smart melodic techno track entitled “Descent” as well as two remixes of it, and another tasty original called “Motegi.”

9. Yam Nor- “I Wanna Feel” (Kolombo remix)
A nice deep bassline and a pitched-down vocal carry the groove on this remix by Kolombo, and it seems to be a theme for the whole EP for “I Wanna Feel” by Yam Nor. This sound is so hot right now.

10. Lea Luna- “Crazy Pills” (Jaytech remix)

From Lea Luna, author of Friday Rewind, here is “Crazy Pills” remixed by sunny progressive mastermind Jaytech. Out now via Beatport on Black Hole Recordings.
