Gatorade Drops Tiger Woods Drink For Other "Innovative Products"

Gatorade Drops Tiger Woods Drink For Other "Innovative Products"

Posted December 9, 2009

The energy drink company Gatorade, says their decision to drop Tiger Woods' signature beverage had nothing to do with the headline-making golfer's mistress scandals.

Gatorade's parent company PepsiCo Inc., explained in a statement released to the press that Woods was dropped so they could prepare to make room for other "innovative" products for next year.

"We decided several months ago to discontinue Gatorade Tiger Focus along with some other products to make room for our planned series of innovative products in 2010," PepsiCo wrote.

Woods' collabo with Gatorade, Tiger Focus, launched in March 2008. According to reports, sales have been lagging this year by 34 percent. -Linda Hobbs
