George Zimmerman's brother went nuclear on Twitter and the lawyers for Trayvon Martin's family are NOT happy!
Robert Zimmerman Jr., whose brother George Zimmerman faces up to life in prison, recently appeared on several TV and radio shows complaining about a "vast mis-information campaign," as well as highlighting an "official letter of condolence" to Trayvon Martin's family. The younger brother took to Twitter, angrily, to criticize a lawyer involved with the case, which could complicate the accused murder's legal defense.
The cause of Robert Zimmerman Jr.'s ire was Civil Rights lawyer Natalie Jackson suggestion that the Zimmerman family was using the media for fundraising purposes.
Jackson was one of a group of lawyers and supporters who helped to bring public pressure upon the Florida police and prosecutors to finally charge George Zimmerman after he shot-and-killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The Twitter tirade by Zimmerman Jr., who was writing directly to Jackson, wrote, "My life's work = you WILL be held accountable for your words/actions. You AIN'T seen NOTHIN' yet ... I will see U disbarred."
The anger may stem from his belief that his brother, George, shot the young teen in self-defense and believes he was justified in doing so under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" gun law.
Zimmerman's lawyer Mark O'Mara is reportedly baffled as to why anyone associated with the case would speak so vehemently, so publicly. He said in an emailed statement picked up by the Associated Press, "We're naturally concerned because there is always a risk that their comments could complicate our defense efforts."
Is this what they're hoping for?
