After spending six months behind bars, Radric "Gucci Mane" Davis is finally ready to see the light of an uncuffed life.
Monday afternoon, Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez announced on her radio show that Gooch would be released from Atlanta's Fulton County Jail next Wednesday, May 12. In addition, the 30-year-old trap rapper will be performing amongst artists such as Nicki Minaj, Usher and Drake at Hot 97's annual Summer Jam concert on June 6.
Gucci was sentenced to a maximum 12 months in prison for violating probation stemming from a 2005 assault charge on November 12. The MC, most popular for his features with Mariah Carey, Mario and Lil Wayne, is being released 6 months early for good behavior.
On Tuesday, AllHipHop reported that Gucci had announced his departure from manager Deb Antney—who Minaj also recently dismissed—and the launch of his new record label, 1017 Brick Squad Records Inc. featuring himself, Waka Flocka Flame and OJ Da Juiceman. —Tracy Garraud
