Rapper Guru’s surgery, which was administered in response to a massive heart attack he suffered over the weekend, was a success.
Days ago, rapper Guru, of famed hip-hop group Gang Starr, was left comatose after a going into cardiac arrest. Guru, born Keith Elam, was admitted to a New York hospital where he underwent surgery yesterday (March 1).
While the rap world patiently waited on an update on Guru’s health, rumors began to spread yesterday through Twitter that the Boston rapper had died. His Gang Starr cohort, DJ Premier (@djpremierblog) took to twitter to clear up such rumors, “Don't believe rumors, pray people, pray!! #guru”
Early this morning, DJ Premier confirmed again on Twitter that Guru’s surgery was a successful, “Good news: #guru surgery was successful, keep sending him love.” —Emmanuel Ureña
