Halle Berry On Breakup With Gabriel Aubry: 'I'm Not Done With Love, But I Refuse To Settle'

After months of silence and speculation Halle Berry breaks her silence on her breakup with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

In the September issue of Vogue, Berry applauds Aubry for being a fantastic parent to their two year old daughter, Nahla, but says relationship-wise the two were “not a love connection” built for the long haul.

“It's just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody," Berry says. "We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that's why we came together.”

But Berry maintains the two are good friends and are committed to be being parents: "We are a family until we are not here anymore." And the 44-year old actress, who will star next year on screen in Dark Tide and later on the Broadway stage opposite Samuel L. Jackson in The Mountaintop, says she’s still not giving up on finding the perfect mate. Berry, who still frowns on marriage, was adamant about not staying in a relationship just for her daughter.
