Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg And Others Earn African American Film Critics Awards

As the year 2010 winds down to a close Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg and the movie The Social Network are already coming up winners in some award season circles. 

The 2010 African American Film Critics Awards, held in Los Angeles this month awarded Berry with Best Actress for her role in Frankie and Alice while Wahlberg received the Best Actor award for his role in The Fighter. And For Colored Girls costars Kimberly Elise and Michael Ealy both received Best Supporting Actress and Actor nods. The Social Network was awarded Best Picture and Inception's Christopher Nolan earned Best Director kudos.

The special honoree award recipients of the evening were screen legend Lena Horne, film critic Roger Ebert and groundbreaking filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles who were all celebrated for their lifelong contributions to the world of film. Here are highlights from the evening’s events.
